Space weather at a national meteorological service: the Met Office experience so far
The Met Office has been running a 24/7 operational space weather service since April 2014, demonstrating a successful porting of space weather science to a national meteorological service, with its attendant operational standards.
In this presentation, we will summarise the current services being provided, and the underpinning infrastructure supporting this - the forecasting bench, the IT support, the research team and the links to the academic community and other partners.
We will also briefly describe the history of how this came about, extracting lessons learned which may also be relevant in a French context.
